Its been a while , maybe a while too long since I've put my thoughts to words on my Blog.

I have started doing my internship at a Catering and event management company located in Observatory from the 1st of October 2014 ,and so far have been loving every minute of it.

This post will mainly be about work , exams and adjustments ...anddd planning my 21st Birthday.

I have had great fun at the company i am interning at as the people here are lovely and all like a big family .. The first few weeks i was taught how to use their online catering software to be able to put quotes together and update their inventory and their menu prices , this has actually taught me a lot about what mark up needs to be put on prices and how much things actually cost.

On friday the 19th of October I was appointed as an assistant supervisor for an Old Mutual-wildlands event and worked a 14 hour shift. I had so much fun in that moment , being completely in my element.

Ive been back in the office this week where i have been helping the logistics manager with a few things in her section, the most lovely person i have met in a long time with such a nice heart .

Im looking forward to coming to visit and just chat to the staff once Ive completed my internship at the end of November

Highlights of working thus far

>  Being an assistant supervisor for an Old Mutual function
>  working with amazing people
>  staying in Pinelands in the week
>  getting most weekends off
>  Working with an awesome friend whom i know since high school


So between all of this i have been planning my 21st , actually in essence i planned my whole 21st in one day , this says a lot about the industry I'm going to be working in...

So basically it doesn't feel like my Birthday and i would have preferred not to do anything as i feel my Dad has given me enough in this life time ,but he has insisted on me having at least something it could be anything ,however i wanted it , whoever i wanted to invite ,just as long as i have something . With all that being said I planned the most cost efficient birthday party i could've thought of with hardly any formalities and i have just invited people who have been there for me through everything , As i believe its pointless to invite people just to fill a party but rather to have people that has had an influence on your life.

I have hardly been working in this industry but I have gotten so much items sponsored and I'm truly grateful to have people in my life that can offer so much for me including my current workplace.

 OH YESS and i passed all my final exams ,which means not a single rewrite since I started studying :) whoop whoooppp

All the happenings of life

Helloooo everyone , it's been quiet a while since I've been here almost two months already , with the planning of our fun run in full spring , life has been quiet hectic and the fact that knowing I have only four weeks of class left ...it's insane ... So exciting times lie ahead in the next year I have decided to take a Gap year and travel a bit and then the next year get my degree in event management  

My family and I are going to Ireland for my cousin Simone's wedding next year and a few months after that I'm going to travel Europe for a month I got the okay from my dad last week so I'm pretty excited about that .

Random things that have happened : today i sat in traffic for and hour ! 

> I bought my dog a handsome collar and a dog chain with his name and my number on :) 

> I am ,  at this very moment babysitting my three year old cousin , who has the nicest manners and the funniest sayings 

> today I recieved an exteemly early 21st gift from my mom :D 

> Melissa my best friend has decide to make my spring ball dress for me :D obviously I'm going to pay her for her talentedness.

catch up post :)

I promised i would blog as soon as the holidays started but i never expected my holiday to turn out like it did .

Others would call me lucky to have a 5 week holiday but its not all that . I would share whats going on in my life with all of you reading this but I'm not one to open up easily and i prefer to keep my personal life private rather than having many people pity me. I do open up to a few and if you are part of those few you are very lucky as it means i can put my trust in you and i can call on you when I'm in need and I thank you for being there for me.

I have been having fun in-between such as going to Langebaan for my moms birthday , going to Struis Baai with my sister , taking a drive out to kalk bay with keenen , spending his birthday with him which was super awesome , taking drives out to pringle bay and the occasional visit to my friend Dani who always welcome me to her house by inviting me over for coffee and series and thats the best way to just relax and keep my mind off things for a while (so thanx dani :),your hospitality means a lot.

I am also currently writing a speech for Melissa , my best friend ... i have a feeling I'm going to cry when i read it because her friendship has carried me through times i was completely down and out and yet she managed to keep a smile on my face, instead of flooding my head with negative thoughts she's really always made me look at the brighter side and always encouraged me to be a joyful little soul... we are definitely inseparable and i love her very very much .

My heart is to happy not to mention anything about Keenen, he doesn't know it but I've learned a lot about him the last few days , that has made me appreciate him even more than i have before , keenen you are a true Gem in my life and i love you very much :) i love that we have conversations about things that don't make sense practically every time we see each other .Its the little things that all add up and i wouldn't be half the person i am if it wasn't for you ,so thank you bany(my nickname for him) , i love you xx

The hectic life of a third year event management student

The definition of hectic , not the internets definition ,but rather my own definition would be no time to check your phone , Facebook and other social media sites . 

Some would call me writing a blogpost procrastination , to some extent could be true ,but i need a break to my brain has been running way to long for its own liking the last past week. 

I have been on search for my new car , and even put that on hold when i got swamped with way to many assignments , a group assignment of 70 pages , a 30 page assignment and a pitch for the Fab bridal expo presentation and lastly a corporate presentation where the third year event management students , set up the class in  U shape for a meeting and everyone dresses up in corporate wear and you as a group of ten provide food and listen to your ideas on a certain topic after your resonation the group can debate about a statement you have come with . 

When I'm done posting this i will be moving on to completing assignments for monday as well as a tutuorial . I have never been this stressed , but its all preparing us for the big and scary world out there , that i am excited to venture in when I'm done studying.

For now there is not much excitement in my life ,so this blogpost is a little shorter than others. 

Ill be back soon though ,when i find something else to blog about , but for now i wish the Third year event management class good luck with all the work .

Voting and then enjoying some of Cape Towns restaurants :)

Your vote is your privacy ,but not according to all the Facebook posts about which party people would be voting for in the last few weeks, which kind of got monotonous and annoying ,but never the  less i was pretty excited to go and vote being it my first time and all . I was in a very fortunate position not to stand in any queues at the voting station as my sister is on crutches and cannot stand on her feet for too long soooo we skipped the whole queue and kindly got helped straight away making the voting a 5 minute max thing. 

My friend/sister Roxy came to sleep by me for the first time in about a year and a half , she has just graduated from completing her cheffing course and is now currently studying hotel management at THC the hurst campus ,i haven't seen her in ages because her campus is situated in Franschoek and we were both busy , i visited her every now and then in Franschoek while she was doing her internship and stayed for a whole week in the December holidays. spending the last two days with her was pretty awesome. :)

having the whole day ahead of us and nothing to do we decided we would go for lunch .. it took us about a half an hour to decide where we would go eat and in what direction we would go ,my sister throwing around suggestions of camps bay , hout bay and many other far places which was cool except for the fact i would have to be the one to drive there and back. We decided to go Cape Towns direction and ended up in park street ,this little street had many restaurants to choose from such as simply Asia ,takumi,fat cactus ,we decided to have lunch at a Moroccan restaurant called Ricks cafe 

Ricks Cafe had the largest amount of alcohol I've ever seen at any restaurant thismeaning about 5 pages filled with different options and two pages in total sums up all the food items present on their menu. I have not consumed alcohol in a while so i ordered a passionfruit and pineapple mojito and shortly after that i ordered a lemonade to chase it as it was to strong and felt like my tummy was being burnt to its core. Ricks Cafes food was amazing and the portion size was unbelievably huge,but well worth it. 

Next stop..... Fire and Ice Cape town  no no not for food but for awesome milkshakes ,if you have not been i suggest you go :D They have awesome flavours and a really large selection at that too. the Fire and Ice hotel has awesome bathrooms with different themes and very modern furniture and finishes to enjoy. 

All in all i have had an awesome public holiday by voting and enjoying two of Cape Towns amazing restaurants, unplanned road trips like these and good company is something I quite enjoy,

Boyfriends name: Keenen Jeftha

Names I call him: Mr. Jeftha, baby, babe, boob, and most commonly his known as my angel eyes.

Our relationship isn’t a fairy tale without any glitches, there are many glitches, but that can be expected when your dating someone for almost three years, especially when those three years you grow and change.

We started dating in my matric year, he was in his first year of studying at the time and I was in the vibe of a typical high school relationship where you talk non stop because you have the time and only say the sweetest of sweetest things to each other.

When I started my first year of studying, also a year of dating Keenen this is where most arguments started I started focusing on my studies more than paying attention to the guy who meant the world to me. He couldn’t understand the change but we soon became accustomed to the different lifestyles we were both having. And the only problem that was really evident was the fact that we needed to learn to grow together and things would be different than me being in high school.

We seemed to have many misunderstanding and different ways of thinking about different matters but we always seemed to sort things out and not let the other one go to bed angry.

but theres no one id rather argue with , because we are both willing to fight for this relationship and nothing can compare to the memories we have made during the last three years , he has really become my best friend. 

The things Keenen and I like to do best is EAT :) ,go to the beach , watch movies , take random drives and we always on a hunt for ice cream :) 

So my angel eyes if you ever read this, I appreciate you and all the effort you put in our relationship, I love you and thank you for everything J

Glasses

 

I have not been blogging for a while as i have been busy with  an assignment at campus with my friend Lauren ,our assignment is 60 odd pages ,which is quiet a lot of  typing when it comes down to it . During working on this assignment i came across what my next blogpost would be about which is Glasses and the importance it has in my daily life also the irritation it brings after a while and how lost and "blind" i am without them .

I got my glasses in the beginning of 2013, And i only realized i needed glasses when i started driving more often at night ,i would literally squint at the robots as i couldn't see how far they were and all of a sudden my eye sight would go blury. 

I went to the optometrist (spectacle warehouse) ,I'm pretty glad i did my best friend Mellisa told me about them and they have a huge amount of glasses to choose from ,which suited me quiet fine as I'm a picky person. (sometimes) i have an astigmatism in my eye , which basically means my cornea is not fond of being a circular shape and sometimes prefers to be oval , because you know one shape isn't enough for these eyes! :/

I have currently not been wearing my glasses for two weeks , and its the worst . i can't see and i get constant headaches .The reason for not wearing my glasses ? .. I'm lazy ,i left them in my sisters car and have honestly just not gone and taken them out ever since I've left them there . 

people think wearing glasses is fun and a fashion statement .. if only they knew what it feels like to actually need them and having to put these windows to the world on every single day because your eyes have decided they don't want to see clearly anymore ,i guess in that sense I'm a lot like my eyes at times , just give up,don't want to do anything and laze around.

 forgetting where you put your glasses ,having mascara that touches your lens because you have butterflies as eyelashes , and constantly having this frame thing on your face can get annoying and you could only wish your cornea just wanted to be one shape instead of two. 

after all this complaining you would wonder why wouldn't i just wear contact lenses , I'm honestly not one who has the patience for poking their finger in their eye daily , my contact lenses would be lost in the first hour of getting them .

Decisions, Decisions and Decisions !

Decisions are made everyday sometimes without even realizing it, like now I have made the decision to write this post earlier I decided I should attend class, but all in all we decide on things every single thing every day.

I have decided to post because I haven’t posted in a while and that is a decision. So what’s the point of this blog post?

The point is I have realized that every one has a different way of making decisions whether small or big although at times when big decisions are made people tend to seek advice from their peers and family.

Recently I have made a big decision I wont mention what exactly what it is because I do not like speaking to much about my personal life, a decision where there was two options and I followed my Gut, I made a decision that many wouldn’t approve of. But in the end it’s my choice. The thing is I was always worried about what other people thought of my decisions no matter what it was. For the first time I made a big decision like this on my own and I can honestly say its better than waiting for all the negativity to come from people, which leads to overthinking. I took my own initiative and thought about what would make me happy.

I was fortunate to be brought up making decisions on my own from a young age, and sorting out problems on my own from a young age to, my parents don’t really get involved in my personal life they respect my privacy but there are ground rules of course, they believe in the theory of letting me experience life first hand to find out what I like or do not like, and they know if they don’t allow me to go out when I am young I am going to be an old 45 year old wanting there young adult life back.

Point of this post is sometimes your gut feeling can be right, and no one knows yourself better than you do. Take some time and realize what you really want, if you make your own decision you cant blame anyone else for the way you feel, that’s how we learn and become interesting individuals.

Saturday the 29th of March i attended K-day ,which was quite fun as i went with a bunch of pretty awesome people :) I woke up at 6:20 to be at my friend Danis house at 7 ,but when i got there she was still in pajamas so we only left at 10:00am the morning and came back home at about 9..exhausted is not near how i felt , K-day was fun but i think they need to find a bigger venue as you couldn't even walk around freely or they should limit the amount of tickets that were being issued. if you moved you lost your spot , but listening to the local artists was brilliant and worth the money spent on a ticket . A highlight for me was Mi casa and Dj Kent . downfall to K-day,  there were a lot of crickets and when i first got there i slept for an hour because i was overdosed on pain tablets.

Sunday the 30th (yesterday)

MORE LOCAL MUSIC!! and i honestly must say the organization of the kirstenbosch summer sunset concerts is really up to a high standard. Lira was amazing and makes a real connection with the audience at hand ,she is absolutely beautiful in every way and has an amazingly unique dress sense.
Her band was very lively and always kept the crowd on their feet ,there was a special moment shared by a fan named "Loyiso" as he proposed to his girlfriend on stage . After Lira was done we had a "mini" after party in the parking lot one taxi ,many people ,good music and a natural instinct to dance .fun was shared by all .
