Glasses

 

I have not been blogging for a while as i have been busy with  an assignment at campus with my friend Lauren ,our assignment is 60 odd pages ,which is quiet a lot of  typing when it comes down to it . During working on this assignment i came across what my next blogpost would be about which is Glasses and the importance it has in my daily life also the irritation it brings after a while and how lost and "blind" i am without them .

I got my glasses in the beginning of 2013, And i only realized i needed glasses when i started driving more often at night ,i would literally squint at the robots as i couldn't see how far they were and all of a sudden my eye sight would go blury. 

I went to the optometrist (spectacle warehouse) ,I'm pretty glad i did my best friend Mellisa told me about them and they have a huge amount of glasses to choose from ,which suited me quiet fine as I'm a picky person. (sometimes) i have an astigmatism in my eye , which basically means my cornea is not fond of being a circular shape and sometimes prefers to be oval , because you know one shape isn't enough for these eyes! :/

I have currently not been wearing my glasses for two weeks , and its the worst . i can't see and i get constant headaches .The reason for not wearing my glasses ? .. I'm lazy ,i left them in my sisters car and have honestly just not gone and taken them out ever since I've left them there . 

people think wearing glasses is fun and a fashion statement .. if only they knew what it feels like to actually need them and having to put these windows to the world on every single day because your eyes have decided they don't want to see clearly anymore ,i guess in that sense I'm a lot like my eyes at times , just give up,don't want to do anything and laze around.

 forgetting where you put your glasses ,having mascara that touches your lens because you have butterflies as eyelashes , and constantly having this frame thing on your face can get annoying and you could only wish your cornea just wanted to be one shape instead of two. 

after all this complaining you would wonder why wouldn't i just wear contact lenses , I'm honestly not one who has the patience for poking their finger in their eye daily , my contact lenses would be lost in the first hour of getting them .

Decisions, Decisions and Decisions !

Decisions are made everyday sometimes without even realizing it, like now I have made the decision to write this post earlier I decided I should attend class, but all in all we decide on things every single thing every day.

I have decided to post because I haven’t posted in a while and that is a decision. So what’s the point of this blog post?

The point is I have realized that every one has a different way of making decisions whether small or big although at times when big decisions are made people tend to seek advice from their peers and family.

Recently I have made a big decision I wont mention what exactly what it is because I do not like speaking to much about my personal life, a decision where there was two options and I followed my Gut, I made a decision that many wouldn’t approve of. But in the end it’s my choice. The thing is I was always worried about what other people thought of my decisions no matter what it was. For the first time I made a big decision like this on my own and I can honestly say its better than waiting for all the negativity to come from people, which leads to overthinking. I took my own initiative and thought about what would make me happy.

I was fortunate to be brought up making decisions on my own from a young age, and sorting out problems on my own from a young age to, my parents don’t really get involved in my personal life they respect my privacy but there are ground rules of course, they believe in the theory of letting me experience life first hand to find out what I like or do not like, and they know if they don’t allow me to go out when I am young I am going to be an old 45 year old wanting there young adult life back.

Point of this post is sometimes your gut feeling can be right, and no one knows yourself better than you do. Take some time and realize what you really want, if you make your own decision you cant blame anyone else for the way you feel, that’s how we learn and become interesting individuals.

Saturday the 29th of March i attended K-day ,which was quite fun as i went with a bunch of pretty awesome people :) I woke up at 6:20 to be at my friend Danis house at 7 ,but when i got there she was still in pajamas so we only left at 10:00am the morning and came back home at about 9..exhausted is not near how i felt , K-day was fun but i think they need to find a bigger venue as you couldn't even walk around freely or they should limit the amount of tickets that were being issued. if you moved you lost your spot , but listening to the local artists was brilliant and worth the money spent on a ticket . A highlight for me was Mi casa and Dj Kent . downfall to K-day,  there were a lot of crickets and when i first got there i slept for an hour because i was overdosed on pain tablets.

Sunday the 30th (yesterday)

MORE LOCAL MUSIC!! and i honestly must say the organization of the kirstenbosch summer sunset concerts is really up to a high standard. Lira was amazing and makes a real connection with the audience at hand ,she is absolutely beautiful in every way and has an amazingly unique dress sense.
Her band was very lively and always kept the crowd on their feet ,there was a special moment shared by a fan named "Loyiso" as he proposed to his girlfriend on stage . After Lira was done we had a "mini" after party in the parking lot one taxi ,many people ,good music and a natural instinct to dance .fun was shared by all .

Oh Dear

Mmmmm... i have just realized i have not been here for a while ,okay 8 days to be exact, Busy is an understatement of how I've been since then , ... i have gotten a new puppy named chase :) his the most adorable little puppy on the planet <3 . I have attended Fahra's 21st in the Bo Kaap at the Bo Kaap kombuis which had an amazing view of the waterfront and table mountain,we went to Shimmy Beach club after :) On thursday i had a sleepover with my "niggas" Lauren and Nuhaa we had to work on Friday ,yes the public holiday ... and we overslept . Nadine and myself  hit stellies to dance saturday i cleaned the house and the night i babysitter nadines nephews till 2 in the morning , Sunday i taught sunday school and went to the waterfront Nicole and Ryno ..


from thursday till sunday i have had about 6 hours of sleep ... and am pretty sure this post might not make sense ,but clearly i was to busy to sit in front of a laptop and type random things , I'm back though and ill start posting more regularly from now on .. Oh between all of this I'm in the middle of my semester tests at campus .

Student life ..fun? no fun? somewhat fun?

Student life


Everyone dreads matric and can't wait to be a student after that ..pfftt what any student would give to get grades as easy as it was back at school , student life always sounds like you have fun,freedom and lots of parties. Although this might be true to many ,when i say many i mean many who fail continuously ,drop out at some point because its not what they expected it to be or some who never get sleep to get all the work and studies done for the next day.

The truth is if you dreamt of an amazing student life with many parties and a hell of a social life ,you might be far off as to getting a qualification.

In actual fact its about working everyday to complete numerous assignments with referencing which can deduct a lot of marks if not done correctly and never ending studying for tutorials,test and exams.What can also be guaranteed is a car with no petrol  at the end of the week,hectic schedules with maybe taking an hour to chill with friends once a week if lucky.

I think no matter what field you decide to be qualified in it ,every field has a ton of work and hardly any play .

I remember my first year i thought it was the most difficult transition from High School ,and now i look back and laugh at the first years saying they are swamped with work because being a third year student is basically fitting the whole of first years stress into one term. I still try and manage my social life with my college work ,i attend family events but only stay for two hours max and then go straight home to finish college work. Im also so busy this year that I've made my parents a calendar so that they know when I'm not home and where i am just incase i forgot to let them know.

Im grateful that I've chosen Events Management as its my passion ,I'm also grateful for the amazing friends i have made while studying ..its easier to have friends who understand your work load and know that you can't always go out ,but when you are all free  random outings are planned  just to be in each other companies outside of campus.

some tips to enjoy student life :

1.)Prioritize : work first then a social life , it will only benefit you in the long run.

2.) be well organized: don't leave things for the last minute.

3.) make many friends : not only the friends studying the same course as you.

4.)listen in class: Helps when it come to assignments,tutorials and tests.

5.) sleep: get enough of it you need it for those 7 hour classes.

6.) set goals: this way you will have something to work towards.

7.)DO NOT PLAGIARIZE  : you could get a disciplinary hearing.

8.) buy second hand textbooks : check on gumtree etc.

9.) always bring snacks : you'll need them for breaks and in-between lectures.

10.) breathe , its okay , when you get the hang of it studying it becomes easier and a way of life without even noticing it

When words fade music speaks .

So today i will be blogging about music and some music I've been listening to at recent . ill be writing about the group Haim and the group called daughter these artists are not music everyone would listen to , but it seems to fir perfectly under my genre of music . 

i heard about HAIM through nuhaa ,we seem to have a similar taste in music ,although i listen to a large variety of different kind of music . Daughter appeared on youtube on the side while i was listening to Haim , i loved their music just as much as i enjoyed listening to haim .

Most of you who know me well were probably waiting for this post... YESS  a post about cars..
So most of you know i am currently fortunate enough to even own a car ,thanx to my dad . My post today is going to be about my car and the hopes of selling it :)

Cute right? nahhh i had bigger dreams for this car such as :

• powerflow exhaust
• lowering kit
• white rims 
• sunroof 
• leather seats
• sound to be installed 
• new tyres
• induction kit 
• xenon lights 

 my dad agreed to help me out and work it in towards it being my 21st gift ,but he did not know what he was getting himself into until i gave him the prices of everything ,it added up to quite a penny. I had to make up a monthly schedule of what we would have done to the car till october and the price and contact details of everything, we were on month one ,and a week before we went to have my sound installed he told me to wait , i was obviously upset  all though his conclusion was to sell my car and get a faster one .
